First Day of School

“That was a memorable day to me, for it made great changes in me. But, it is the same with any life. Imagine one selected day struck out of it, and think how different its course would have been. Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day.”
- Charles Dickens, end of chapter 9 in Great Expectations.

“Where am I in Multiple Intelligences?  Where do my Multiple Intelligences lie?”

Here are two links to sites that help you determine where your areas of strength and weakness lie in regards to Multiple Intelligences/Learning Styles.  Keep in mind that we all possess some level of each of these as humans, and that this is only a snapshot of your perception at this point in time.  These will likely change over time.  The point here is to be aware of your gifts and how you learn, while also stretching yourself in areas that are difficult.

Calling All Surfers!

If you surf the web and find some great websites/articles/resources that might be useful for English, Yearbook, or school/life in general, Ms. Riley is looking for some interesting new links.  Please email them to Ms. Riley.  Thanks in advance for sharing!

Instead of opening the pdf in your browser (it crashes your internet browser when you try to open it), save it to your desktop first. Right-click on the pdf, and it will say “Save target as” so save it to your desktop. Also, do you have the latest version of Adobe Reader? You can download this for free. Check to see what operating system you have (Windows 98, XP, etc.) to make sure it is compatible.
